The bridge shown in the photograph crosses the harbour entrance channel of the Port of Västerås in Sweden. It is located between the mainland and the peninsular at the north side of Lake Mälaren. Pressure Design was responsible for the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Commissioning of the Hydraulic Control Systems for this bridge.
The bridge consists of five spans – three fixed spans and two lift spans.
Both lifting spans have their own 30kW Hydraulic Power Units and each span is lifted and lowered using two hydraulic cylinders. (220mm Bore, 4m Stroke).
